Erick Silva is back! But is he better than ever? "Indio" sent Mike Rhodes to his third straight loss at the UFC Fight Night 58 event last Sat. night (Dec. 20, 2014) in Brazil (recap here), thanks to a slick arm-triangle choke in the first round. "Biggie" may find himself on the unemployment line after his latest defeat, while Silva may find himself fighting someone in the top 10 -- something that continues to give him pause in his mixed martial arts (MMA) career. Anyone care to play matchmaker for the talented but inconsistent Brazilian?

Honestly there is no easy answer to this question; however that is not what most parents want to hear. I took the time to write up a suggested bar width/height chart that should help you to decide what size you want your bars. Check it out below. If you are a rider read my previous article on scooter bar height here (Bar size is 100% preference & choice. The following are just my thoughts on it)   Alright lets…

    21 Nov 2014 | 12:00 pm
Today’s article is directed at first time scooter buyers interested in a complete scooter and their options. If you are interested in a part by part breakdown, make sure to check out our previous parts article. When you’re first thinking of getting a scooter it can be hard to know which one to choose. To help Lucky makes four types of already complete scooters, the Crew, the Strata, the Kota Sig, and the Clover. You also have the option to customize a scooter. The custom scooter option is great if you know what colors and parts you might want that don't come on the stock completes.
  • Creating new scooter parts

    19 Nov 2014 | 1:00 pm
One thing I think many people do not understand is how much time and effort go into creating a new part or coming up with a new design. I I’ve been working in the Lucky office for the past month and I have seen how much effort goes into creating, naming, designing, and branding a new part. Alot of kids think that its super easy and takes no time at all to think up and make a new part. Well, they would be wrong. I’m going to talk a little bit about how much effort it does take and how much time actually does go into designing and producing a new part. Check out this segment I like to call…
  • 110mm VS 100mm Scooter Wheels

    17 Nov 2014 | 1:00 pm
Here we go again!  Bayley Maxcy is going to break down so parts for you! The two most common sized scooter wheels in the industry are without a doubt 110mm and 100mm. I’ve seen a few companies start to make 125mm wheels but they haven't really taken off because in order for them to work you need a bigger fork and a bigger brake. I think the industry is going in the direction of bigger parts (125mm wheels, 22 long decks, taller and wider bars, etc) but for now 110mm and 100mm are the main wheel sizes. Kids sometimes don't understand the difference between the two and are confused on…
  • Competition day | How to perform your best

    14 Nov 2014 | 12:00 pm
Competition day can either be a really exciting day for you or a really stressful day, it just all depends on how you interpret it. Most people feel a lot of pressure during competition day because of a few things. Maybe there sponsor is there watching them, or their parents are there, or there just nervous in general because they have to ride in front of a large crowd. Whatever the case may be, you should not be nervous during a comp. I’m going to go over some things that have helped me, and hopefully you can take what you've learned and apply it to yourself to compete at a better level.

  • Shaping a Cardboard Surfboard

Back in 2012, Signal Snowboards uploaded one of their most out-of-the-box videos to date, making a board that can shred barrels and powder – the Surf Snowboard. For that project they enlisted the help of Jeff “Doc” Lausch, the head shaper at Surf Prescriptions. For one of their more recent projects, Signal reached out to Doc again. Golden glow – that’s one beautiful surfboard. Sceen grab from the video. As Jeff writes on his The Inertia post, “I got a call from my good buds Davee Lee and Marc Wierenga at Signal Snowboards a few months ago — they said we have a…

Back in 2012, Signal Snowboards uploaded one of their most out-of-the-box videos to date, making a board that can shred barrels and powder – the Surf Snowboard. To do so they enlisted the help of Jeff “Doc” Lausch, the head shaper at Surf Prescriptions, to craft the foam blank to accommodate a snowboard base and bindings as well as a set of future fin boxes to be used on both snow and water. The final touches to the build. Photo is a screen grab from video. Then back at the Signal factory the snowboard base was vacuum bagged onto the board and the combo design was complete.

The wallpaper from Campo Santo’s upcoming adventure game FireWatch. Stick it as your desktop wallpaper for a daily dose of desk adventure. As soon as the wallpaper from the upcoming Campo Santo game, FireWatch surfaced on the web, I immediately downloaded it and pasted it on screen as my desktop wallpaper. I was psyched, a feeling you normally don’t get when sitting at a desk (unless your playing a video game). Then I realized something, sometimes the idea of adventure gets you just as pumped. According to Outside Online, the American novelist and poet Jack Kerouac spent the…
  • Close call between longboarder and bus

    Ben
    16 Dec 2014 | 9:50 am
Check out the video above, where a super close call between a longboarder and a bus is saved by swift reaction times from both parties. The amazing footage from PerroPro, shows a really fun run down an empty road for the most part. But at the 2:40 mark things get sketchy as the longboarder takes a blind turn straight into the headlights of a big bus. The bus driver immediately hits the brakes while the longboarder goes for the one handed toeslide off the road. As the video description details: never fully trust walkie talkies, unexpected cars can always show up, communication can always fail.
