  • Safety when travelling to developed countries

    admin
    26 Mar 2014 | 2:08 am
Tourism is one of the major business activities worldwide, especially for many developed countries like the United States and members of the European Union. People used to worry about safety when visiting underdeveloped countries, but sometimes neglect some basic safety behaviors when going to countries where they think there are no threats. It is true that we can walk the streets of developed countries without worrying about serious threats that may exist in other countries, such as kidnapping or armed robbery. But in any country there are minimum security measures that must be followed to…
  • The Hanging Coffins of Sagada: A place where death is an adventure!

    admin
    29 Mar 2013 | 5:00 pm
It’s natural people expect their soul to ‘rest in peace’ at least in their death. But whether that truly happens or not is another question. If you happen to visit the Cliffs of Sagada in Phillipines you will be surprised to see to what extent people go to ensure that their souls rest in peace. You will find hundreds of coffins hanging down the cliffs or jutting out of a rock and these have been around since 2,000 years when you scan the higher areas of the cliff. People carved their own coffins before death and the corpses were smoked to preserve it throughout the 5-day…

Don’t want to rent one? Then take it along with you. Here’s how David Colker did it brilliantly. He used on a corrugated plastic box from CrateWorks (www.crateworks.com) that use a system of Velcro straps and foam inserts to secure and protect a bike. It costs $169, plus $35 for ground shipping. If you want to avoid airplane bike tariff you sure could make an ingenious half hidden statement about your cargo.Image

It looks like Guy Ritchie’s first (and best) film needs an update. Nowadays the geezers robbing or “taxing” the dope growers would use a drone to fly around and spot the heat signatures of cannabis farms. “They are fair game,” he said. “It is not like I’m using my drone to see if people have nice televisions. I am just after drugs to steal and sell, if you break the law then you enter me and my drone’s world. “Half the time we don’t even need to use violence to get the crop. Growing cannabis has gone mainstream and the people growing…

I had a panic yesterday, because I’m not sure whether I’m registered to vote, and the European elections are coming up. I filled in an online form, and should soon be getting the paperwork needed to check and, if necessary, fix the problem. Here’s one reason why those of us in the North West should vote Green- I was voting Green anyway, but the chance to get rid of Nick Griffin makes it even better. If you’re considering voting for a slightly less racist party with a gurning toff as leader, just bear in mind that UKIP aren’t very good at keeping track of their…

Chicago’s skyline towers over any hill within a several-hour-radius- not the ideal terrain for rock climbers. Countless yoga studios, weight rooms and pools clutter the third largest city in the country, enough to satisfy any athlete, with the exception of climbers. Outside of a handful of rock walls thrown into gyms as afterthoughts, and one solid, yet tiny, bouldering room, Chicago lacks an indoor rock climbing facility. As soon as Winter 2014, this will all change when First Ascent comes to the Windy City. I had a conversation with three climbers who are spearheading the new gym’s…

You’ll find ski resorts in only two of the nation’s states, Victoria and New South Wales, which makes it a lot easier to choose where to spend your snow holiday. In terms of where the best skiing in Australia is, it really depends on a number of personal preference factors, as well as whether it’s easier for you to…

I’ve taken part in a few monster challenges over the years, but none so far have actually had the honesty to name themselves accordingly. Not so the challenge being run by the charity Maggie’s this May. If you’re looking for something big to motivate your Spring training, then the Maggie’s Monster Bike and Hike might […]The post Maggie’s Monster Bike & Hike: 72 Miles by Hoof & Wheel appeared first on Mountain Bikes Apart.

A dive computer is the brain of our total diving system that allows us to make safe dives. It is very important for divers to know about the current depth, bottom time and no-decompression limits for safety. I am sure you all know about Suunto. 007 James Bond dives into the waters but doesn’t surface for a long time. He doesn’t have a scuba unit on him. So how he can do this? In Thunderball and Die Another Day movies, James Bond uses a great gadget! A small rebreather that can extract oxygen dissolved in the water. You can also see such a rebreather in Star Wars! But is it possible to breath from such a small device underwater in today’s technology? Meet With Triton Oxygen Mask A Korean student, Jeabyun Yeon, has designed such a device. It is called a “Triton Oxygen Mask.” Although it is not a…

Mustafa and I were in Antalya-Kemer/TURKEY for diving several years ago. It was a wreck dive. We were not alone. Our group consisted of 6 scuba divers (including us) and a dive leader. I and Mustafa were instructors, but the rest were starters. Right after the dive briefing, dive leader told us that me and my buddy Mustafa may stay at the back of the group while enjoying the dive and serve as a rearguard for him. That was no problem. We accepted. We jumped on to the water. We started to descent after everybody signaled okay and the dive leader gave the ‘down‘ signal. One of the…

It is obvious that scuba divers love to use underwater cameras. That’s very normal because there are plenty of different living creatures as well as good looking coral reefs, rocky structures and such (read: Why Scuba?). Go Pro® is a good choice for underwater photographers and videographers regardless of the experience. You can check out Go Pro Hero 3+ Review and Does GoPro Take High-Quality Photos Underwater? for more information and reviews about Go Pro®. It is clear that Go Pro® is a very helpful photo and video assistant for those who like to get the snapshots of what they…
