If a rose by any other name is still a rose, an ASP World Tour stop in Brazil is still… The Hang Loose Santa Catarina Pro (the same event usually held each November as a precursor to the Pipeline Masters) already has it’s first two rounds in the books. HUH? Two of the biggest names in skateboarding have recently come forth to bring the news that they are hanging up the skateboard for good. This is both shocking and a loss to the skateboarding world. Jereme Rogers single-handedly quit skateboarding to pursue a rap career. Which we all totally saw coming but had no idea he would just completely say he was over skateboarding. The dude did not even mention that he’d still be skateboarding for fun or anything even remotely close. It truly sounds like he is over it. He even threw a party celebrating his exit from the skateboarding world.

Did you notice Greg Lutzka missing on the United By Fate Globe site? He is missing from the majority of the website entirely. If I am not mistaken I have been hearing he did his own press release via myspace and other social networks of his that he has split from his long time shoe sponsor Globe. Did anything prepare us for him moving to K-Swiss though? First, Koston to Nike and now, Lutzka to K-Swiss. Forced to deal with the cancellation of an outdoor event on June 27 due to inclement weather, the Texas-based organization Shark Fight is making it up to MMA fans in a big way. The promotion is hosting the aptly named "Shark Fight 5.5: Nothing to Lose" on July 18 in Amarillo, Texas, and is offering free admission to all attendees. UFC veteran Douglas Evans (6-5) will meet Doug Frey (5-1) in the evening's main event for Shark Fight's vacant featherweight title, while fellow UFC veteran Nissen Osterneck (5-2) is also scheduled to appear.

While Still Standing Productions, LLC recently conducted Pittsburgh's first MMA event, the organization may find itself needing to make a few changes before a announcing a second card. The Ultimate Cage Fighting Challenge has drawn the attention of the sport's biggest organization, the UFC, and a copyright infringement claim may be forthcoming. UFC Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Marc Ratner recently told the MMAjunkie.com Radio Network that the UFC was currently looking at potential action against the upstart organization.

The UFC's first trip to Oklahoma in nearly 15 years is now official. As MMAjunkie.com first reported in May, UFC Fight Night 19 - which will serve as the lead-in for Spike TV's "The Ultimate Fighter 10" debut - will take place in Oklahoma City. With the Ford Center currently closed for renovations, the neighboring 15,000-seat Cox Convention Center will house the event.

We meet Cliff J. Snake on this trip and we all went big. We all jumped from the 70 foot cliff and Jesse even ended up busting his A*S. We had a great time and can't wait to go back to Rindge Dam and do some more Extreme Cliff Jumping there.
My Television Debut

Travis recorded this and captured it for me. Thanks, it's not everyday a friend can you record live on TV! The tv crew from Al Exito! TV, KWHY Telemundo, followed the Skeleton Crew back to the Punchbowls where we showed them what Extreme Cliff Jumping was all about. The day was perfect for filming but the cold September air dissuaded most of the S.C.K. from going on this mission but they used some footage shot by the webmaster himself.

The jumper who went the biggest in this video is Jesse, the Jumping Ninja, with a quick appearance by Chad, Matt V. and the webmaster. The soundtrack is by the greatest filmmaker Ever! Wildwood State Park, a great hike ending at a mellow cliff jumping pool. The jump is only 35 feet or so but it's right in our backyard so... This video was submitted by Jesse, The Jumping Ninja, Ventura County California.
Jumping off Red Rock

This monstrous cliff jump is right behind Santa Barabara, California. It's infamous for hundreds of miles for breaking backs and killing drunks. It is possible to have fun jumping off of the top of the tower! Murf manned up in this clip.

Cam Sinclair made history over the weekend when he pulled the first ever double backflip within a FMX contest run at the Red Bull X Fighters. Cam ain’t no 1 trick pony, that’s for damn sure! He pulled a solid FMX run that would have scored him a solid finish even without a dub flip, but then he hucked a double backflip to top it off! Oh yeah, and not just once, either. Red Bull X Fighters returned to the historic Fort Worth Stockyards. Twitch, Maddo, Sincs, and Ox were invited to do battle against a stacked field of international riders on a video game-style course. Amer Sports, the parent company of Salomon, Bonfire, and Atomic, just lost one of its larger investors as Novator Finland Oy announced today that it sold its entire 20 percent stake in the company to “institutional investors” at a 15 percent discount vs. Wednesday’s closing price, according to a story on Reuters. Amer Sports shares were 15.4 percent lower at 7.02 euros 0718 GMT. . . Novator sold its 14.7 million shares at 7 euros each through SEB Enskilda. Kelly Slater beats Brazil’s Adriano de Souza and wins the Hang Loose Santa Catarina Pro in Imbituba. “There were much better waves in the Final than there were for my Semifinal,” Slater said. “Adriano (de Souza) found a pretty good rhythm early on and posted some pretty good scores, but I felt comfortable out there and felt that the waves would come to me if I were patient. Both of my scoring rides allowed me to a bunch of maneuvers and I felt that the scores were maybe a little high, but I haven’t had many good scores this year, so it was bound to go my way at some point.”…
